Many DMV rowhouse chimneys were built with no liner at all — or clay tiles that cracked decades ago. A damaged or missing liner lets heat and combustion gases reach the house structure. Brickline installs insulated stainless steel liners sized to your appliance, restoring a safe, code-compliant flue backed by a lifetime manufacturer warranty.

Why Unlined Flues Are Dangerous
An unlined or tile-damaged flue can let flue gases and stray heat reach framing that was never meant to see either. NFPA 211 requires a continuous, intact liner. Insulated stainless steel is the standard fix — it improves draft, keeps the flue warmer (less creosote), and carries a lifetime warranty.
